Reduce the probability of premature bearing damage even at the point of mounting your rolling bearings and bearing housings. In our latest service tip, we reveal a number of important mounting steps and pointers to help keep your rolling bearings running.
An overview of all Schaeffler bearings can be found here.
The following must be observed when mounting bearing housings:
The mounting dimensions and critical dimensions must be checked before starting work on mounting.
Two-part housings can only be measured correctly if the cover screws are tightened to the required torque.
Housings, rolling bearings, and other metallic objects must be at the same temperature during mounting (room temperature), otherwise there is a risk of condensation.
The upper and lower sections of different housings must not be interchanged or rotated.
All lubrication holes and functional surfaces musts be cleaned with a cleaning agent that leaves no residue (disappears without trace), and checked for production residues such as drilling chips, before mounting commences.
